Lady Wolverines end day with two shutouts

MABEN - The East Webster Lady Wolverines capped a successful first day of the Fast Pitch Softball Classic in which they hosted with two impressive wins.
East Webster picked up a 14-0 victory in the first game against Noxapater.
"Both games were similar," Lady Wolverines coach Lee Berryhill said. "We did two things well. We pitched the ball well and hit the ball well."
The Lady Wolverines held Noxapater scoreless through the top of the first before the flood gates opened offensively. 
In total, East Webster scored four runs as Mamie Hollenhead, Autumn Frost, Jennah Pate and Kerrigan Clark all made their way around the bases. 
Kendall Wilkinson, Bailey Springfield, Frost, Pate, Clark and Krista Ellis all came home in the bottom of the second advancing the Lady Wolverines lead to 10-0.
East Webster added on four more runs in the bottom of the third.
Ellis reached on a walk followed by Springfield, Frost and Pate. Each girl subsequently made their way home, giving the Lady Wolverines a 14-0 advantage.
