Mississippi State had another opportunity to get into the win column and end a double-digit losing streak.
The Bulldogs led South Carolina 47-39 with 14:18 left in the second half, but couldn't close it out.
The Gamecocks came storming back and beat the Bulldogs 74-62 Saturday afternoon inside Humphrey Coliseum.
"This is another year of adversity that we have to overcome," MSU sophomore guard Craig Sword said.Â
The Bulldogs finish the regular season on a 13-game losing streak, matching last season's streak, and a 13-18 overall record and 3-15 mark in the Southeastern Conference to finish last.
"It's tough," MSU sophomore guard Fred Thomas said. "We just have to find a way in this SEC Tournament to get a win."
