The Mississippi State Bulldogs believe progress has been made despite a pair of shutout losses on the first weekend of Southeastern Conference softball play.
Despite dropping 4-0 and 5-0 games to the eighth-ranked Kentucky Wildcats at home on Friday and Sunday, respectively, MSU was encouraged it could salvage a 2-1 Saturday victory against one of the best teams in the nation.
The Bulldogs were swept by Kentucky in Lexington last season, so being able to take one game in the series this year was considered a step in the right direction.
