Maben planning to deal with dilapidated buildings

Maben Mayor Larry Pruitt is trying to lead by example.

A few years ago, he said, a string of downtown buildings on Second Avenue had portions of their roofs cave in. Flat roofing had allowed precipitation to accumulate and weigh the roofs down, several of them had been out of use for years, and they were already in a state of disrepair as a result, he said.
