The 2013-14 season will continue for the Mississippi State women's basketball program.
With Monday night's bid to the Women's National Invitational Tournament, the Bulldogs returned to the postseason for the first time since 2009-10.
MSU will host Tulane on Thursday night at Humphrey Coliseum. The times of the first round games will be announced today.
This is the 13th time in the history of State women's basketball that a team has made it into either the NCAA Tournament or WNIT. It is the seventh time the Bulldogs have participated in the WNIT.
Auburn and Missouri also received bids to the WNIT out of the Southeastern Conference.
Now that MSU's place in the postseason is secure, coach Vic Schaefer wants his team to take advantage of the opportunity.
"It's a good step for our program," Schaefer said. "We're at 19-13 and our number is 20 right now. We want to get to No. 20 somehow some way."
