The Starkville Lady Yellowjackets played softball like the team coach Wendy Jolly thought she had on Tuesday night.
After losing a 19-7 decision to Louisville on Monday night, SHS bounced back one day later and recorded an impressive 12-2 victory over West Point in five innings at Lady Jacket Field.
Starkville jumped out to an 8-0 lead after two innings and coasted to the win.
"They played like the team that they are," Jolly said. "(Monday night) was a little bit of a setback, but they came back refocused, got the job done and I'm very proud of them for that. They've come a long way in the last two years and this year they are showing the team that they should be."
