Mississippi State defensive lineman Chris Jones was able to make the All-Southeastern Conference Freshman team last season without the benefit of going through a spring practice.
The former Houston High School Hilltopper has gone through three days of workouts with the Bulldogs this spring and he can already tell a difference.
Instead of guessing what MSU defensive coordinator Geoff Collins and head coach Dan Mullen want, Jones has more of an understanding of what to expect.
"I'm more able to adjust to the game," Jones said. "Last year, it was a learning process. It's about playing and having fun now with what you are doing. It's more exciting than last year because last year, it's I've got to know this and I've got to know that. Now I know it. I can play and have fun."
