Mississippi State saw good outings from all three starters over the weekend.Â
Trevor Fitts showed that Sunday and gave the Bulldogs their third quality start of the weekend, the first time MSU starters have done that since the 2011 Atlanta Regional.
Fitts tossed 6 1/3 innings, but it wasn't enough as the No. 3 Vanderbilt Commodores scored five runs in the last three innings to beat the No. 24 Bulldogs 5-1 at Dudy Noble Field.
The Bulldogs (17-9, 4-2) won the first two games of the Southeastern Conference series and were looking to sweep the Commodores (20-5, 3-3) for the first time since winning all three at home in 2000.
