Lady Yellowjackets pick up 16-15 victory

The Starkville High School softball team had a tough weekend, but picked up a hard fought 16-15 victory over Noxapater Monday evening.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the top of the first. 
With Shanele Johnson, Iyanna Clark and Alexis Poe coming across the plate Starkville chipped the lead to four at 7-3.
The Lady Jackets further cut the lead as Jocitta Buchanan scored making it 7-4 after two.
Noxapater took it back out to four as they scored one in the top of the third, but Starkville stood ready when they approached the plate.
With the score standing 8-4, Kelsey Jones and Timber Halbert rounded the bases in the bottom of the inning making it 8-6.
