Starkville tops Columbus

March 26, 2014

Division games, especially those that come against a rival, are not usually easy.
That was the case Tuesday for the Starkville Lady Yellowjackets against the Columbus Lady Falcons.
In the end, Starkville pulled through with strong team play to get the 10-9 victory over Columbus.
“The win was good,” Lady Jackets coach Wendy Jolly said. “We struggled at the beginning, but found a way to come out on top like we did (Monday).
“These last few games they have really stuck together. I am very proud of them for that. This group has improved since day one of the season and we continue to press forward.”
Callie Wells stepped into the circle for Starkville in the first inning and when she finished her work there, she had retired the Lady Falcon batters in order.
