SMITH COLUMN: MSU women are in middle of a good run

Martha Alwal, Savannah Carter, Jerica James and Breanna Richardson had every reason to be proud and emotional with what they had just accomplished.
In the moments following Monday night's double overtime 74-66 victory over the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles in the Women's National Invitational Tournament, the Bulldog quartet were having a good time talking about what they had done.
The first question in the post-game press conference was directed at James and dealt with the game-saving blocked shot she had against Jamierra Faulkner with 24 seconds remaining in the first overtime.
