There had been some time passed since Starkville Academy picked up a win on the golf course.
Last week the Volunteers remedied that issue by taking first in the Washington Invitational.
“We have played two matches so far and have gotten off to a pretty good start,” Vols golf coach Mark Alexander said. “We won the Washington Invitational, which was our first win we have had in three years or so. I am really proud of them for that.”
SA earned its victory after Harper Arnold (80), Wyatt Allen (82), Griffin Little (88) and Alex Bedwell (79) combined to shoot 329 placing them in a playoff against Pillow, which the team won on the second hole.
