Jacob Lindgren's journey to his current role has been a long one.
The Mississippi State junior left hander is pitching out of the bullpen this season, but he didn't always come into a ballgame in the late innings.
The Bay St. Louis native has made 16 starts in his Bulldog career, including nine in Southeastern Conference games.
He struggled down the stretch last season and was used seldom, but this season head coach John Cohen and pitching coach Butch Thompson decided they could get the best out of him if he came out of the pen.
Lindgren, who has been told his stuff is better out of the pen, has accepted the new role.
"It's a little different, but I'm embracing my role," Lindgren said. "(It's about) doing whatever I can to help the team."
