GTR airport operational following leak

April 8, 2014

LOWNDES COUNTY — The Golden Triangle Regional Airport had its share of plumbing issues Sunday, as a pipe disconnected amidst thunderstorms and left the terminal soaking wet.

According to Robin McCormick, West Point-Clay County representative on the GTR Board of Directors, about 8:15 p.m. a drain pipe connected to the roof drain in the terminal “broke free,” causing rain from the roof to dump into the terminal. McCormick said the issue stemmed from a loose clamp that held the pipe in place to the drain.
