While most of the game featured strong pitching and quick outs, a six-run inning by the Winona Lady Tigers made all the difference as they defeated Starkville Lady Yellowjackets 8-1 on Thursday.
â€śTheir pitcher moves the ball well and has a lot of speed,â€ť Starkville coach Wendy Jolly said. â€śWe struggled on offense, but Callie (Wells) our pitcher pitched a really great game which kept us in it. We held them 1-0 until top of sixth, then a few errors hurt us in the end.â€ť
