Familiar faces vie for city post

April 17, 2014

One finalist for Starkville’s vacant community development director position is seeking a promotion within the city ranks, while another is trying to obtain a city position for the second time in less than six months.

City Planner Buddy Sanders is the only internal candidate to apply for the community development director position, and the Board of Aldermen on Tuesday named him one of five finalists aldermen will interview during a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. April 22 in the City Hall courtroom. Finalists will also interview with the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustments and Appeals, and the Greater Starkville Development Partnership prior to meeting with aldermen.
