The game between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Texas A&M Aggies was halted in the seventh inning Thursday night game due to weather.
Lightning forced the game to go into a delay at 8:36 p.m. and rain forced the game to be suspended until today. The No. 20 Bulldogs lead 4-1 in the top of the seventh inning and will resume today at 5 p.m.
MSU and Texas A&M will play game two of the Southeastern Conference following the conclusion of game one around 6:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs stormed out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Gavin Collins had a two-run single and he scored on a wild pitch for the third and final run in the frame. The Lake Forest, Calif., native is 11-for-27 with nine runs batted in for the last eight games.
