Gov. signs merger bill

Another step in the consolidation process for the Starkville and Oktibbeha County school districts came to a close Thursday when Gov. Phil Bryant signed Senate Bill 2818 into law.

Though the Mississippi legislature website did not show an update in the bill’s status as of Thursday evening, District 37 Rep. Gary Chism (R-Columbus) told Starkville Daily News that Bryant signed the bill in the afternoon.
