Tornadoes rip through state - County dodges brunt of storm

Oktibbeha County dodged a bullet as tornado-producing storms passed to the south without causing any significant damage, but the county did not escape the storm’s effects entirely.

Severe weather passed through the area late Monday afternoon and remained into the evening. Oktibbeha County Emergency Management Director Jim Britt said the emergency operations received no reports of damage as of Monday evening.
