William Coggins

William (Sonny) H. Coggins, 78, passed away on April 27, 2014 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.  He was retired from Howard Furniture and a member of Longview Baptist Church.  He was founding member of Talking Warrior Coon Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. G. Coggins and Ruby Parrish Coggins; sisters, Mildred Hill Bowman, Inez Bock, and Bessie Long Hewlett; brothers, Woodrow, Pete, Buddy, and Horace Coggins; and two grandchildren, Rodney Smith and Summer Pitts.

He is survived by his wife, Lavis Jones Coggins of Starkville, MS; daughters, Wanda Smith, and Debbie Brown (Barry); sons, Doug Coggins (Vickie), and Donnie Coggins (Angel), all of Starkville, MS; sister, Betty Fitzgerald of Cedar Bluff, MS; brother, Bobby Coggins of Columbus, MS; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Coggins is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS.  Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home.  Rev. Larry Yarber will conduct the service.  Burial will be in Craig Springs Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Longview Baptist Church.
