The Mississippi State Bulldogs were shaking their head after Wednesday night's midweek loss.
The No. 28 Bulldogs dropped a 2-1 decision to Jacksonville State at Dudy Noble Field. Both runs by the Gamecocks came without a hit.
"When the other team executes to beat you, that's one thing," MSU head coach John Cohen said. "When you allow them to go first to third on consecutive passed balls that you're just missing, then that's a whole other thing."
It was the first time in school-history for the Bulldogs (28-18) to ever lose to the Gamecocks (24-19).
A wild pitch scored one Gamecock and a safety squeeze with a runner on third base turned out to be the difference.
