East Webster prepares for opponent, not rain

MABEN – The East Webster Wolverines know the weather is something they can't control.
What the Wolverines can take care of is how they perform on the baseball field.
With the threat of rain possibly shifting the schedule of the third round Class 2A series against Mantachie around this weekend, East Webster coach Wes Johnson said the focus should be on the game itself and not the weather.
"We're going to take it one day at a time and battle the rain," Johnson said. "I don't know if the weather is going to hold off or not."
The Wolverines host the first game, which is set for a 6 p.m. start today. Mantachie hosts game two at 2 p.m. Saturday and the third game if needed will be back at East Webster Monday with a 7 p.m. first pitch.
