Runs in the family: Mother, daughter keep track going for Woomers

One quick look into the lives of Caroline and Emily Woomer and they seem to be the typical mother and daughter.
They cook together. They hang out and they spend time with their family.
Take a more in-depth look and it is clear their relationship extends far beyond the normal confines. While Emily runs track at Starkville High, her mom is busy standing on the sidelines coaching the team. In the beginning, Emily says the dual roles were a little strange, but now the sophomore says she would not have it any other way.
“It was kind of weird at first,” Emily said. “She can be kind of hard because she has really high expectations, but I know what she says is important and she notices the little things I need to improve on. It can be pressuring, but she knows how to change it up and have a dividing line between mom and coach.”
