The objective most weekends for baseball teams are to get into the bullpen of its opponent.
That was not the case for the Tennessee Volunteers when it came to playing the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
MSU relief pitchers worked 20 1/3 scoreless innings in the three-game series against Tennessee and took two wins during the stretch.
Lucas Laster and Jacob Lindgren were especially sharp on Sunday by combining for 11 scoreless innings of relief and the Bulldogs defeated the Vols 4-3.
"The bullpen guys have just been fabulous," MSU head coach John Cohen said. "You can't say enough about those guys and (pitching) coach (Butch) Thompson has done a good job of preparing them for those moments. I wish we could score more runs for our pitching staff and I know our position players do too because they deserve it."
The trend was started by Ben Bracewell on Friday night.
