Mississippi State announced that point guard Jacoby Davis will transfer to be closer to his sick mother.
Davis' mother, Michelle, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
â€śI fully support Jacoby's decision to transfer under these circumstances,â€ť MSU coach Rick Ray said in a school release. â€śJacoby has been a model student-athlete here at Mississippi State but simply wants and needs to get back closer to home to support his mother.â€ť
The Charlotte, N.C. native sat his freshman season after suffering a torn ACL. He played in 28 games this past season for the Bulldogs. He averaged just 2.2 points and 1.2 rebounds. He had 19 total assists during the 2013-14 campaign. Davis scored a career-high nine points at Missouri on March 1.
