MABEN – Spring football is often about finding hidden gems ready to shine during the upcoming football season.
That could not have been truer for the East Webster Wolverines, who spent the practice sessions without a few key players due to postseason baseball action.
“A lot of our kids were still in baseball so we worked several kids, who wouldn’t normally get all the reps in the spring,” East Webster coach Doug Wilson said. “We got a lot of hitting done, a lot of reps, learned a lot of base plays and we feel good about what took place. It was a little different not having everybody out there, but we found some extra linemen and had several kids step up to fill some positions that needed filling from the seniors we lost last year.”
