One will have to forgive the top team in the country and No. 6 national seed for the NCAA Baseball Tournament if it's not totally thrilled with the pairings sent its way.
The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns gave a half-hearted clap when they saw that the Mississippi State Bulldogs were going to be coming to town and be a part of their regional.
Maybe the run the Bulldogs went on last season was still on the minds of the Cajuns and caused them to squirm a little bit.
MSU hasn't had the type of season to this point that it enjoyed in 2013, but that doesn't mean the Bulldogs won't catch fire and make a charge at another appearance in Omaha, Neb. and the College World Series.
There are enough veterans on the MSU roster that went through that experience and understand what it takes to have success in the postseason.
Wes Rea, Brett Pirtle, Alex Detz, Trevor Fitts, Ross Mitchell and Jonathan Holder are just six of the Bulldogs, who played key roles in last season's appearance in the CWS.
MSU's pitching, with Fitts and Mitchell leading the way, is good enough to win a tournament, but the offense has to score enough runs to overcome any hiccups the hurlers may experience along the way.
