LAFAYETTE, La. – The Mississippi State Bulldogs were in a great position to win a regional and move onto a super regional.
They started the Lafayette (La.) Regional 2-0 and needed just one win to advance to the next round. The Bulldogs didn't get that win.
MSU lost twice to host Louisiana-Lafayette in consecutive days. The Bulldogs saw their season come to an end with a 5-3 loss to the Ragin' Cajuns Monday night.
"They're a very good club and you've got to beat them kind of the way we did in the second half of that ballgame," MSU head coach John Cohen said. "What you can't do against those guys is walk people. We walked seven during the course of the game."
