Jacob Lindgren will have a Mississippi State teammate with him as he works his way through the New York Yankee organization.
Bulldog closer Jonathan Holder was drafted by the Yankees in the sixth round, 182 overall, in Friday's First-Year Player Draft.
"Excited to have the opportunity to continue to play ball with the #yankees," Holder tweeted out with a picture of himself and Jacob Lindgren on the golf course. "Congrats to (Lindgren) I guess we can be roommates?"
Lindgren was taken 55th overall by the Yankees on Thursday night.
Holder was 7-1 this season with a 2.22 earned run average. The junior right hander had seven saves. he struck out 71 batters in 52 2/3 innings.
The Gulfport native owns the school record and single-season record in saves. Holder recorded 21 saves last season to set the MSU record and tie the Southeastern Conference single-season record. He recorded 37 saves during his three-year career.
