MSU's Woodruff, Pirtle drafted on third day

Mississippi State had a pair of players drafted during Saturday's First-Year Player Draft.
Junior right hander Brandon Woodruff was taken in the 11th round, 326th overall, by the Milwaukee Brewers, while senior second baseman Brett Pirtle was drafted with the 700th overall pick, 23rd round, by the Detroit Tigers.
This makes four Bulldogs taken during the three-day draft. Pitchers Jacob Lindgren and Jonathan Holder were both drafted by the New York Yankees.
MSU signees Chase Vallot and Dale Burdick were drafted as well. Vallot who plays catcher was taken 40th overall by the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night. Vallot played high school ball at St. Thomas More in Louisiana. Shortstop Burdick was taken in the 40th round by the New York Mets. He played high school ball at Summit in Tennessee.
