Club Rock hearing set for today

June 10, 2014

Mississippi 16th Circuit Judge James Kitchens will preside over a scheduled 10 a.m. hearing at the Oktibbeha County Courthouse Annex today to determine if a temporary restraining order that effectively closed Club Rock will remain in effect.

Oktibbeha County is seeking to permanently close Club Rock after a March 29 shooting that involved more than 20 shots fired left five people injured, one critically. Kitchens issued a temporary restraining order on April 11 that prohibited club owner Larry Fair or any member of the public from going onto the club’s premises. A hearing to determine whether Kitchens’ order would remain in place was originally scheduled for April 21, but was rescheduled to allow Fair time to hire a lawyer.
