Brandon McBride may look cool and calm on the outside before a race, but on the inside, it's a different story.
The Mississippi State track and field athlete has what he calls "meltdowns" with all the anxiety he experiences before a race.
He had some major issues in that area hit him last week before running in the NCAA Championship 800-meter race in Eugene, Ore.Â
"What you see on the track is a tad bit different than what you seen in the background," McBride said. "Warming up you see me on the track and you're like 'OK he's calm.' The thing that I really like about coach (Chris) Woods and coach (Steve) Dudley (is) they're really there for me and they really understand the amount of anxiety that I actually do build up. They sit me down and they talk to me."
