Knight takes over Eupora's baseball program

June 23, 2014

EUPORA – Coaching searches can oftentimes be long and strenuous.
That was not the case for Eupora when it came time to hiring a new baseball coach.
"We are very fortunate with the hand we were dealt to have someone as capable as coach (Michael) Knight to fill that area that was already on staff," athletic director Junior Graham said. "He is excited about the opportunity. He understands how important baseball is to the community and he is ready for the challenge."
Knight, who previously served as wide receiver, defensive end and special team coach for the Eagles, does not have to travel far for his new role. He also has the unique "advantage" that he is already familiar with a large majority of the athletes.
"It gives him an advantage over anybody else from the outside," Graham said. "He knows the type kids he is dealing with. He knows their strength and weaknesses already because he watched them play and he has coached a majority in football. That makes the transition that much better because he knows the kids that have been through the battle."
