SMITH COLUMN: Outlaw camp keeps focus on good time

June 24, 2014

Smith

The city of Starkville has always welcomed back Travis Outlaw with open arms.
Outlaw, a member of the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association, returns to his hometown each summer and always finds a way to give back.
During this week alone, Outlaw hosts the Elite Basic Skills Camp and will be presenting the 12th annual Boys & Girls Club of the Golden Triangle Golf Benefit on Saturday at the Mississippi State University golf course.
It's a pretty busy schedule for a guy, but one Outlaw is used to having. He lives life in the fast lane during the NBA season with five or six games per week in cities across the nation.
As far as doing things for the community, it's something that Outlaw puts emphasis on and doesn't turn down opportunities to do so.
