Benefit set for Harris

June 27, 2014

Harris

On Sunday, the community will have an opportunity to support a local man who is fighting a life-threatening condition at the Vince Harris Benefit show.

The benefit program, which will begin at 4 p.m. at Rick’s Café on Highway 182, has been organized to support Vince Harris, a Starkville man and former drummer in several bands, including a stint with Starkville-based band The Grumpies in the nineties, who suffers arteriovenous malformation (AVM). AVM is a complex, abnormal tangle of blood vessels that are linked at least one direct connection between an artery and a vein. AVM can lead to hemorrhaging of the brain, brain damage, reduced oxygen to blood tissue and other complications.
