Two of the youngest teams at the Dizzy Dean 7-year-old South State Tournament met at McKee Park Friday afternoon.
In a matchup of 6-year-old All-Star teams, Mathiston was able to generate enough offense to take a 11-3 win.
"It's a very good little team," Mathiston coach Darrell Fason said about his team. "It's a 6U team. My guys held tough and we're in it to win it."
Fason said the strength of his team is the infield's ability to come up with outs.
