Nine runs were the difference between a win and a loss in the Dizzy Dean South State Tournament on Saturday.
The Starkville Nationals were on the positive side of that outcome as the 7-year-olds secured a 12-3 victory over Louisville.
"As coaches we couldn't be more proud of them," Nationals coach Allan Smith said. "They did an outstanding job. The kids really stepped it up and I can't say anything more. We just have to keep it up."
