Benardrick McKinney's week just keeps getting better and better.
The junior Mississippi State linebacker found his name on another award watch lists, which was the second of the week.
McKinney was a part of the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list as released Thursday. The trophy is given to the most outstanding defensive player in the country. The winner will be chosen from five finalists, who are part of the 2014 FWAA All-America Team. The award will be presented to the winner at a Dec. 8 banquet in Charlotte, N.C.
There were 81 players on the list with 24 of those being linebackers. The Southeastern Conference had 16 names on the list.
Earlier this week, the Tunica native's name was a part of the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list, given to college football's National Defensive Player of the Year.
McKinney led the Bulldogs with 71 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks as a sophomore.
Along with McKinney, four other Bulldogs are included on preseason award watch lists. Junior quarterback Dak Prescott is on the Maxwell Award watch list, given to the National Player of the Year, while senior wide receiver Jameon Lewis is on the Hornung Award watch list, given to the most versatile player in college football, senior tight end Malcolm Johnson was a part of the Mackey Award watch list, given to the most outstanding tight end, and senior center Dillon Day is on the Rimington Trophy watch list, given to college football's most outstanding center.
