WEST POINT – There is no doubting the potent nature of the Starkville 8-year-old All-Star offense.
On a day where Starkville generated 48 runs in two games, it defeated Louisville 24-7 in four innings and Caledonia 24-16 to remain unbeaten at the Dizzy Dean South State Tournament.
Starkville had all 13 batters in its order pick up at least one base hit each in the victory over Louisville.
"We swung the bat really well up and down the lineup," Starkville coach Brent DeWeese said.
Starkville was able to knock off Caledonia with a big sixth-inning offensive outburst.
"We made some nice plays in the outfield," DeWeese said. "We've really played solid in this tournament and I'm tickled to death to see it."
After also defeating Houston 15-7 on Thursday and Saltillo 16-8 on Friday, Starkville has won four-straight games in West Point and won't play again until the championship round on Monday at 5 p.m.
