Storm getting World Series experience

The Starkville 12-Under softball team, the Starkville Storm, is participating in the Dizzy Dean World Series this weekend in Southaven. There's a learning curve that exists for any team experiencing the World Series for the first time.
That's the case for the Starkville Storm, an 11-12 All-Stars softball squad made up of players from the Starkville Parks and Recreation season.
After losing to the defending champions from last year, the Storm were scheduled to take on Louisville on Friday, weather permitting.
"They've been really excited, worked really hard and come together as a team," Storm coach Britney Ditzig said. "They are an All-Star team so there were a couple of girls from every city league team put together on one team. The last couple of weeks we've really worked hard on meshing them. The last couple of days they have really started to click.
