A new face joined the Starkville soccer scene.
After spending the last few years with Coerver Coaching, Mark Farmer has signed on to be the full-time director of coaching for the Starkville Soccer Association.
“Starkville has a great group of kids,” Farmer said. “It is a close-knit community and I am looking forward to being a part of that. The association, the board and everyone here has done a great job of building the soccer program.”
Growing up in Birmingham and coming to Starkville from Little Rock, Ark., it took Farmer a little while to adjust to the difference in town size, but with the people he has met along the way, Farmer said he quickly knew this was the right place for him.
“This is the smallest town I have ever lived in, but the people here are just genuine,” Farmer said. “I felt at home here with the people I work with and in the community. People at Starkville Café, Buffalo Wild Wings, Strange Brew (Coffee House) and the other places I frequent, they just all made me feel welcome.”
