SA's tournament features big prize at end

July 20, 2014

One million dollars.
A single amount of money that can make people do some crazy things, but for one lucky participant in the upcoming Starkville Academy Baseball Golf Tournament, the task required will not be that insane.
“At the end of the tournament, we will draw a name out of a hat for one person to go out 165 yards (150 yards if female) on hole 18 to get one shot at the hole,” Volunteers coach Jody Britt said. “If it goes in, then they win one million dollars. If they miss, they will win $300 in gas.”
The chance to walk away with a life-changing amount of money is quite intriguing and for Britt, that is what it was all about because the more people who play the more money the SA team accumulates for things like uniforms or facility upgrades.
