It has been quite an amazing two-year run for the Northeast Mississippi Clippers.
After finishing second in the United States Sports Specialty Association 11-Under State tournament, then winning USSSA Global World Series in 2013, the Clippers won the USSSA 12-Under State tournament and the World Series this year.
The Clippers won the World Series over the weekend with an unblemished mark of 6-0.
Coach Jay Perry of the Clippers said that playing baseball "should be fun no matter what," but the accomplishments of the team add a little icing on the cake.
"When you go 6-0 against top caliber competition and are able to win the World Series, it makes it even more fun," Perry said.
The Clippers began the World Series by defeating Thomasville, Ga., 9-7, and Foundation Sports (Stockbridge, Ga.) 7-6 in pool play.
