Sales tax holiday set for weekend

It can be expensive for families to send their children back to school.

The National Retail Foundation reported that families’ back-to-school spending expectations averaged $634.78 in 2013. They also reported that the largest portion of those shoppers’ budgets go toward new apparel and accessories, with 95.3 percent of shoppers planning to spend an average of $230.85 on fall attire and $114.39 on shoes.
