There is no substitute for game experience.
A player can study and practice all day long, but getting into the game and having to think on their feet is a whole new ballgame.
For Starkville Academy, experience will certainly be on its side this football season.
Last year saw the Volunteers start a sophomore quarterback in Houston Clark, while also surrounding him with young skill players. This season those same players are all back and expectations are running high.
“We are all excited,” Clark said. “Practices have been going really well. This year is a whole different intensity level with higher expectations. We have one more year experience and are looking forward to getting on the field.”
