There is no substitute for game experience.
A player can study and practice all day long, but getting into the game and having to think on their feet is a whole new ballgame.
For Starkville Academy, experience will certainly be on its side this football season.
Last year saw the Volunteers start a sophomore quarterback in Houston Clark, while also surrounding him with young skill players. This season those same players are all back and expectations are running high.
â€śWe are all excited,â€ť Clark said. â€śPractices have been going really well. This year is a whole different intensity level with higher expectations. We have one more year experience and are looking forward to getting on the field.â€ť
