MSU's Gordon aggressive with recruiting

August 12, 2014

Mississippi State soccer coach Aaron Gordon knew that he had to be extra aggressive in recruiting to get ready for this season.
With only seven players returning from last year's team, Gordon had to have a big signing class in order to get the depth needed.
That mission was accomplished with 19 signees.
"That means a lot of opportunities for a lot of players," Gordon said. "I think that's why we have a lot of enthusiasm this year, probably moreso than others, because everyone sees they can play somewhere. They see they can play as a freshman and that's the case.
"When you are a program that's trying to make a mark in this conference, you need people pushing people every year."
