SHS downs Noxubee, impresses on offense

The Starkville Yellowjackets opened their 2014 season and broke in their new turf field Friday as they out-muscled Noxubee County in a 51-19 drubbing in high school football at Yellowjacket Stadium.
Class 6A powerhouse Starkville out-rushed its Class 4A opponent 230-19 and tallied 413 yards of total offense. Senior running back Matt Fuller led the Yellowjacket ground attack with 139 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, while senior Jacquez Horsely rushed for 91 yards on 13 carries.
Senior quarterback and New Hope transfer Brady Davis completed 11-of-18 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns in his first game in a Yellowjacket uniform, and the Starkville defense forced three Noxubee County turnovers in the victory.
