MSU's Harris anxious for playing time
Dez Harris entered his senior year of high school ready to help lead his team to a championship.
Harris quarterbacked the McAdory (Ala.) Yellowjackets, but didn't play in his senior year. He suffered a knee injury during a preseason jamboree event, costing him his final year of high school football.Â
He redshirted as a freshman last season for Mississippi State, but now the former quarterback is ready to play linebacker for the Bulldogs this season.
"It was a long, hard year," Harris said. "I was sitting out but at the same time, I was paying attention to my surroundings, watching BMac (Benardrick McKinney) and (Deontae) Skinner, just learning from those guys and how to actually play defense and linebacker in the SEC."
