Building a solid foundation: Cub Scout recruitment up 27 percent this year

Cub Scout recruitment, which formally ended last week, saw a 27 percent increase over last year in the number of boys who signed up to join the scouting program.
Jeremy Whitmore, scout executive for Pushmataha Area Council, attributes the increase to publicity measures that were taken this year to inform every boy about scouting.
