SAAC Fall Showcase opens tonight

November 12, 2010

The Starkville Area Arts Council’s Art in Public Places program is set to unveil a new exhibit entitled “Fall Showcase” in the lobby gallery of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership building at 200 E. Main St. in Starkville.
The Fall Showcase includes works by 18 local artists who have all priced their work at $250 and under in order to allow the public to buy one of a kind pieces of art at affordable prices.
A free public reception will kick-off the Fall Showcase today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the GSDP and will allow guests not only to get the first look at over 50 pieces of art, but also speak with the artists whose work is included in the exhibit. Art will be available for purchase at the time of the reception or anytime until the exhibit closes on Jan. 3.
If the artwork is being purchased as a holiday gift, arrangements can be made through the SAAC office to pick up pieces on Dec.13. All other purchasers are asked to allow the art work to remain at the exhibit until it closes on Jan. 3.
Those unable to make the reception are encouraged stop by the GSDP to view the art during regular business hours, which are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
